Arrived safely!

Hey guys and girlies,

Very excited by the fact that I have 9 followers, 7 more to beat Alex! The morning I left was quite sad. Mum, Josh (little brother) and I went to Jungs for eggs Benedict before heading to the airport. Got my first, ever (half) hug from Josh which clearly made him very uncomfortable! At the airport Mum came with me to check in. Was quite embarrassing cos Mum asked so many questions, including the ease of getting around Doha airport. Of course I cried through the process which led the airport assistance to ask my age, guessing 15! Once on the plane though I was fine... watched a few films, opened the plane presents from my Mum and Dad! Doha was also easy, but I was led most of the way. Arrived in Beijing around 2:00pm (Chinese time).

Was very exciting to see Alex again, although I felt very nervous before hand! He has lost a fair bit of weight and he is very pleased with himself. He has told me several times that he has gained weight in the past 2 weeks and he was actually much skinnier. I am actually writing this as he 'works out' next to me- squats, lunges, sit-ups! lol! The journey back to the hostel was interesting. I quite like how the Chinese x-ray your bags when using the trains etc. I was shocked by how physical people became when fighting for their place on the train. I thought London tubes were bad at rush hour people traffic. Here people were pushing and shoving until they got on, and there was no letting people off either!

We didn't do anything when we got here. Alex gave me the presents he had bought for me on his travels which were all fab (apart from some manly gross coloured woolly gloves which I have told him to keep!) Looking forward to going shopping myself! Today was also very chilled. We slept in until 12:00pm (yet I am still very tired) and then we went to the forbidden city in Beijing. Tonight we are heading to Donghuamen Night Market which has lots of street food or something!
